Our Central and - South American partners

Amazonas Explorer is proud to be the Peruvian Representatives of ATLAS – Active Travel Latin America Specialist.

ATLAS is a select group of owner-operated active adventure operators from throughout Central and South America. Our common goals are:

QUALITY & INNOVATION
Member companies must place the highest priority on the quality of their operations from the time they receive a quote request until the time the client completes their tour. Members must be able to provide client references that can be called upon if deemed necessary to provide some foundation to their claims of quality. During our working relationship we will collect feedback on all member companies and any continued bad feedback will be reviewed and may result in a member company being asked to leave the group.

RESPONSE TIME & COMMUNICATION
Member companies must respond to client communications within 24 hours – even if it is just to say that they have received the request and are working on it. They must also keep in good communication with clients to let them know of progress with the quotation in the event that more than 48 hours is needed to produce a final quotation. Continued quality communication is also required throughout the process until a trip is finalised and payment taken. Sales staff must have a highly competent level of English (& Spanish for any international staff).

PROVEN TRACK RECORD
Member companies must have a proven track record of quality operations – both from office and field staff in the designing & implementation of their tours and be able to provide a variety of client references from renowned tour operators around the world. Member companies must supply a list of any other member associations that they have been invited to join such as SIGNATURE TRAVEL NETWORK, VIRTUOSO, ENSEMBLE, MAST, ANDREW HARPER PREFERED PARTNERS, etc

HEALTH & SAFETY
Health & Safety must be a member company’s number 1 priority. We require that all members provide a risk analysis, best practices, emergency response, and contingency planning and share results and best practice with the rest of the members.
Member companies must have a specific process for training guides and drivers to include first aid training as a must and wilderness training for any back-country / wilderness experiences they offer.
Member companies must support any health & safety programs coming from clients.

SUSTAINABLE / RESPONSIBLE TRAVEL
Member companies must take every effort to adhere to Sustainable / Responsible travel best practices. They must provide some proof of activities they are undertaking to be a sustainable / responsible travel operator.
