Amazonas  Explorer is proud to have been involved in offering Team building experience for the managers of Grupo Inca for the past 10 years and more recently been involved in helping to formulate the Social Responsibility  policy of Grupo Inca. In 2008, managers from Grupo Inca helped Amazonas Explorer to plant 10,000 native polyepolis trees in the community of Pampacorral in the Lares watershed.

GRUPO INCA

GRUPO INCA came into existence in 1957 when two friends, one Peruvian and one European, founded PATTHEY & CORZO, a company dedicated to the purchasing and selecting of all grades and colours of Alpaca fibre for exportation purposes. The Company was started in Arequipa, which is located one thousand kilometers by road of the Peruvian capital, Lima. The efforts and hard work of these two men were fruitful and the profits of the business were reinvested over many years.

GRUPO INCA can be described as a family business. However, we have built an excellent team of managers who have been given wide powers to use their experience, imagination and abilities in managing the different units. Ideas are often discussed at great length to make the right decisions; and here lies the wealth of our group, a group whose employees take pride in their work and whose salaries ultimately depend on the customer's acceptance of the services and products offered.

Our concept is not that GRUPO INCA be a static entity, but much to the contrary a dynamic one ready to face new challenges. Ever since its beginning, it has been continuously evolving; there have been failures, and we have had to react. Clearly, by its present state, it has proven that its successes have been more numerous than its failures. Almost certainly, in five or ten years time, GRUPO INCA will be different from what it looks like today; hopefully greater and more successful, but undoubtedly its trajectory will be in line with what it has continuously been.

Our well-defined philosophy is to give raw materials the maximum added value in the origin for exportation to niche markets, leaving aside the ones of low quality and commodities. This process is done in the cleanest and most natural way possible, thus avoiding the degradation of the environment. However, there is also a commitment to introduce new technology, investment and marketing know-how from developed nations. We endeavour to distribute our products in the established and new markets thus getting as close as possible to the consumer. One of the priorities of GRUPO INCA is summarized in our slogan: WORKING WITH NATURE.

GRUPO INCA employs more than 4,800 collaborators and indirectly gives work to another 25,000 people. We generate more than 50 million US Dollars per year in foreign currency and contribute to the development of southern Peru, a region with a huge potential but also where an increase in the standard of living is not only important, but also necessary.
